Shiny is nice technology to write interactive R-based applications.
It has been rapidly adopted and the R community has collaborated on many interesting extensions.
The open source version has a number of limitations, though, that prevent proper use in larger organizations and companies.
In this talk we will present ShinyProxy, an open source middleware application that offers professional functionality e.g. LDAP authentication and unlimited concurrent use of multiple Shiny applications.
Using case studies we will demonstrate how ShinyProxy enables organizations to bring Shiny applications to their end users.
Besides showcasing basic features, we will also highlight how the use of Docker technology opens a new world of possibilities that go beyond the current proprietary platforms.
